You don’t have to do crash diets to lose weight. To lose weight or we say body fat, the right way is to eat mindfully. Losing weight is all about healthy eating habits, not starving. Well, you can plan and eat well-balanced meals but when it comes to munching you eat blindly.

1. Chickpeas

Chickpeas are highly nutritious and are very versatile. You can make a quick salad with chickpeas or air fry them with some basic spices like cumin, paprika, salt & lemon. The crunchy & tangy chickpeas will leave you mind blown and keep you satiated for a long time.

2. Yoghurt

The high protein, fiber and prebiotics content of yogurt makes for a healthy evening snack. Also, it’s great for your gut. You can mix some fruits and honey in yogurt, and refrigerate it for some time. Enjoy this sweet treat in the evening.

3. Moong dal idli

Moong dal or moong beans are a great source of protein and fiber and they are also low in calories. You can make some idlis and enjoy them with peanut chutney which is again high in protein. It’s easy to make and is oil-free and keeps you full for long.

4. Nuts

Dietitians often ask you to do nut cycling or seed cycling. This is very good for your entire body. Nuts are an abundant source of protein, omega-3 & omega-6 fatty acids and micronutrients which is great for skin, hair and nails. Nuts should be taken after soaking them for a few hours or overnight. This will help your gut to easily digest them. 

5. Paneer Tikka

Cottage cheese or paneer is rich in proteins and calcium and can be great if you want to shed those extra kilos. You can have it raw or shallow fry with the tiniest amount of oil. Or you can make paneer tikka which is healthy, yummy and great for your tummy. 

6. Sprouts

No doubt sprouts are a great source of protein, very high in nutrients and low in calories. Make a sprouts salad or make pancakes aka chila with sprouts batter. Enjoy healthy quick snacks without the worry of gaining weight.

7. Makhana

Also known as pox nuts are an amazing evening snack. Suffice your cravings and beat hunger pangs with this excellent source of fiber, calcium and protein. Makhanas are gluten-free and low in fat and sodium. Dry roast them, and add some basic spices and chaat masala to make them more appetizing. 

8. Dried peas

Dried masala peas can be a great pick for evening munching. They provide an excellent amount of proteins, fats and fiber. They help in managing high blood pressure.

9. Besan/Moong Dal Chila

Chila, also known as savory pancakes can be made with besan, moong dal or red lentils. It is a great snack which is low-fat and protein-rich. Add some veggies of your choice and serve them with yogurt or mint chutney.

10. Popcorn

Not only is popcorn high in fiber, it even delivers some protein. A 1-ounce serving (about 3½ cups) has 4 grams of fiber, almost 4 grams of protein and clocks in at 110 calories. This combination makes it a snack with staying power with very few calories, which can help with weight loss.
