Pink October: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Pink October is a movement to stand for and support breast cancer warriors and survivors.
Globally, breast cancer is the most common kind of cancer affecting women. Although, with the help of early detection through routine checkups and self breast examination the survival rate can be higher.
Here is a guide for a quick self breast examination
1) Stand in front of a mirror with your arms relaxed by your sides. Look for any changes in size, shape, or position, or any skin changes.
2) With each arm raised, use the opposite hand to examine each breast. Using a circular motion and firm pressure, feel for any lumps or thickening.
3) If you notice any lumps, discomfort or other changes, schedule an appointment with your healthcare professional.
