Golden Globes 2024

The major part of 2023 went in the Barbenheimer debate across the globe and it shouldn’t come as a suprise that they dominated the golden globes too. Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ had nine nominations, including best motion picture – comedy or musical while Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ had eight, including best motion picture – drama. Although Margot Robbie was nominated for Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, she lost the title to Emma Stone. But Barbie did not go empty handed and won Outstanding Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. The film also won best Original Song for What Was I Made For? by Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas. Meanwhile ‘Oppenheimer’ took home some big titles. It was named Best Motion Picture – Drama. Christopher Nolan won the Best Director award, Cillian Murphy won Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama and Robert Downey Jr was awarded the Best Supporting Male Actor – Motion Picture for his role.
