Japan’s First Lady Wears Saree At G20 Dinner

G20 was all about taking pride in our culture and showcasing the age-old tradition of our nation. The pride multiplied when the G20 delegates also followed our traditions.

At the G20 Gala dinner hosted by President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, foreign delegates’ first wives embraced Indian traditions. Japanese PM Fumio Kishida’s wife Yuko Kishida dazzled in a green Kanjeevaram saree with gold prints, a gradient gold border, and a hint of pink on the edges. She paired it with a contrasting rani pink blouse, a sleek bun, a white clutch, and a bindi. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s wife, Akshata Murty, displayed her love for Indian weaves in a long-sleeved, floral-printed silk georgette dress, accentuated by dangling diamond earrings.
